The Michigan Recruitment & Retention Network is a team of individuals, dedicated to the personal and professional development of its members. We are committed to provide our members opportunities to grow and enhance both their personal and professional development through education meetings, forums that encourage the flow of communication and exchange of ideas and access to informational resources.

Membership shall be open to individuals who are directly involved in and have primary responsibility for the recruitment, retention, or acquisition of physicians and/or other medical staff and who are employed to do so by a hospital, hospital system, clinic, practice, managed care organization, or not for profit health care association.

OUR MISSION

The Michigan Recruitment & Retention Network is a "model of excellence" whose commitment to collaboration, education and professionalism is reflected in its membership throughout the State of Michigan. Through networking and educational development we seek to minimize risks and maintain a selective, knowledgeable approach to the recruitment, retention and acquisition of physicians and allied health care providers.

History of MRRN

The Michigan Recruitment & Retention Network evolved from a small group of recruitment and physician relation professionals from across the state who met monthly in Lansing to exchange ideas, problem solve and offer support to each other in this ever challenging profession.

The group found these meetings so helpful that each member was soon identifying others who should be invited to attend. As the group grew from its original size of eight to nineteen members, they were approached by the Michigan Health Council for input on developing a computerized system linking Michigan hospitals with Michigan physicians for the purpose of physician recruitment and keeping physicians within the state. This database evolved into Medical Opportunities in Michigan (MOM), a highly successful program in matching candidates with opportunities with Michigan hospitals.

The group continued to grow and with nearly forty members was incorporated as a non-profit professional organization in 1993. With the formalization of the group, the focus expanded from pure networking to include educational programs as a part of each meeting. This aspect of the meetings was so favorable that MRRN held its first formal two-day conference in May of 1994.

In 1997, MRRN organized its first physician job fair in Dearborn exclusively for members of MRRN. The success of this event led MRRN to hold a job fair each year since 1997.

The group has continued to evolve and grow, and members now represent a large portion of the hospitals and health care organizations in the state. MRRN continues to reach out to help them maximize success and satisfaction within their careers.
